Every day we will be featuring each of our Finalists. Wendy Kay of Kitty Kay Make & Sew is a Finalist in the Woman Who…Excels in Business Category.
With an M.A. in Fashion Studies from De Montfort University, Wendy Kay spent over 10 years working as a Fashion Retail Buyer for companies such as Next, M&S and Adams Childrenswear. Wendy’s passion for design has been shared as a visiting lecturer, and in her role as a Business Advisor to the ‘Young Enterprise’ programme. Her work in primary schools was driven by a desire to get children sewing, which then led her to set up in business. ‘Kitty Kay – Make & Sew’ produces sewing/craft kits for children, enabling them to be creative from an early age, whilst teaching fundamental life skills in a fun, safe way.
