Congratulations Becki Coombe of The LEC, Finalist in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise

Today we are featuring the Finalists in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise.

Introducing Becki Coombe of The LEC (Learn2 Education Centre), Finalist in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise.

The LEC is a small educational charity, founded and run by Becki Coombe, that works with disaffected, disengaged and vulnerable young people and adults, with an aim to ensure they do not become ‘NEET’ (not in education, employment of training) between the ages of 13-16, or to enable/support their positive and sustainable progression if they are aged between 16-25 and are NEET.

Through delivering English, Maths, Employability and certificated qualifications in our small, nurturing educational environment, we are able to both upskill and increase learners’ self confidence and self esteem, moving them closer to their overall objective.

“It has been a challenge to form and lead the Learn2 Education Centre to its current status as a recognised nurturing and quality place for learners to engage, learnachieve and progress in their life challenges and education. Being a finalist in the Women Who… Achieves for a Social Enterprise or Charity award has provided an excellent opportunity to increase local awareness of education and progression opportunities to disaffected, disengaged and vulnerable populations across Coventry and Warwickshire, as well as to celebrate our learners’ achievements”. (Becki Coombe)

Congratulations Becki on being a Finalist in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise Category.

“We are very pleased to be on board and to be a part of these Awards and especially to be sponsoring the ‘Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise’ category. As a local business we are very passionate about supporting local groups and charities within our local communities and we also firmly believe more women need to be given the confidence to flourish and achieve. These Awards will showcase those women who are achieving and hopefully inspire others.” (Erica Kemp)
