Today we are featuring the Finalists in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise.
Meet Cheryll Rawbone, Chair of The Friendship Project, Finalist in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise.
Cheryll is the chairman of Arthur J Gallagher’s Coventry office. Cheryll is ACII qualified and Chartered Insurance Practitioner, leads the client service team, and was instrumental in the launch of the Arthur J Gallagher SME Global offering in 2016.
As a volunteer, Cheryll was one of the founding trustees of The Friendship Project for disadvantaged children in 1986, then their honorary secretary for almost 25 years, before stepping up to be Vice-Chairman, then Chairman in 2013. She has helped to organise their policies and procedures, and implementation of these, and is now promoting a new PQASSO quality assurance scheme, as well as organising for the charity to change to CIO status. On a practical level she is directly involved in fundraising, and last year helped to organise and raise just over £26,000 for the charity.
Congratulations Cheryll on being a Finalist in the Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise Category. Cheryll has also been shortlisted for Woman Who…Special Achievement Award.

“We are very pleased to be on board and to be a part of these Awards and especially to be sponsoring the ‘Woman Who…Achieves for a Charity or Social Enterprise’ category. As a local business we are very passionate about supporting local groups and charities within our local communities and we also firmly believe more women need to be given the confidence to flourish and achieve. These Awards will showcase those women who are achieving and hopefully inspire others.” (Erica Kemp)
