Congratulations Tracey Hallam of Hope Against Cancer Winner of the Woman Who Achieves for a Charity Award 2019 sponsored by Alsters Kelley Solicitors.

Hope Against Cancer is Leicestershire and Rutland’s local cancer research charity.
We were established in 2003 to bring vital, cutting-edge life-saving cancer research to our area and to make clinical trials, that can lead to potential new drugs and treatments becoming available to local people.

Since 2003 we have raised almost £6m and funded 60 research projects tackling many different forms of cancer.

We work in partnership with universities and hospitals to fund pioneering research to ensure that Leicestershire remains a hub of expertise in cancer research and treatment. Also a dedicated Hope clinical trials unit within the LRI.

What a fantastic journey, from nomination to then go on to win in my category. The atmosphere of the awards was motivational and empowering and great to have a room with such positive vibes. I am still pinching myself, never did I expect to win such a prestigious award . I was delighted to be recognised for the work I do at Hope, I am privileged to be part of dynamic driving team with a shared ambition to increase survival rates for cancer patients.” (Tracey Hallam, Hope Against Cancer)

What the judges said: The Judges were inspired by our Winner’s journey and the risks she took undertaking taking the role. In addition, they were impressed by her innovative ideas to raising substantive funding from businesses.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring and being part of the Woman Who Achieves Awards for a third year. The Awards last year were brilliant and the standard of entries was incredible, an indication of what a strong and vibrant region we work in.

We are particularly thrilled to be sponsoring two Awards this year; Woman Who Achieves for Charity and Woman Who Achieves for a Social Enterprise. As a local business we try and support a range of local charities and all the people we come across who work for these organisations are all incredible and deserve so much recognition.

We really enjoyed this year’s Lunch Awards.  As sponsors we take great pride in our contribution to supporting women in business, helping to build confidence and having an effective voice.  The Awards were a real celebration of their achievements.  It was great to meet so many inspirational women and those who support them.
