Friendship Project established in 1986 for children is a local Coventry & Warwickshire befriending charity for disadvantaged children age 6 -16, referred by either local schools or children’s services. Our volunteers (Older Friends) provide approx 3 hours a week, for an average period of 2.5/3 years, of 121 attention with the child (Younger Friend) helping them to improve their confidence, self esteem and at the same time have some fun. The charity has helped over 1,000 local children. We are currently supporting 70 children and have a similar number on their waiting list. Funds and additional volunteers are greatly needed please.
