Woman Who is not just about one day in the calendar year and the celebrations continue throughout the following weeks and months.

Congratulations Ruth Micallef, Eating Disorders Edinburgh, Joint Winner of the Woman Who Achieves in Services Award 2021, Sponsored by Alsters Kelley Solicitors.

The Woman Who Achieves & Solopreneur Awards took place on Friday 1st October. This year we held a hybrid event with many joining us in the Marquee at Coombe Abbey and those that couldn’t joined us online. Ruth was in the online audience, hosted by Academy Member, Sam Youngz.

Congratulations Ruth on your achievements and thank you to all the Winners and Finalists for your support and making this event into an amazing hybrid Awards event. Watch out for Holly Nixon’s feature, Joint Winner alongside Ruth.

For a woman who has come second her whole life, it’s a complete shock and such a joy to have won so many business awards this month.
I am immensely grateful to all my patients and clients for choosing me to work towards recovery with, and equally so to all the people and professionals in my life who have supported me with compassion and love throughout this journey! I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

My next big step is making Binge Eating Disorder recovery accessible for all on a beautiful and curated platform…so watch this space! (Ruth Micallef)

Eating Disorders Edinburgh is a private practice catering to the over 1 million people in the U.K suffering from ‘Invisible” Eating Disorders.

Born from my own recovery experience in my early 20’s, I identified a massive gap in the private sector. It wasn’t until the post-traumatic growth I experienced following the birth of my beautiful son that I decided to put make my dreams into a reality.

Now at 30 years old, I have three University Degrees, numerous BPS and ISST accredited qualifications, a thriving, waitlisted private practice, and an abundance of gratitude towards all my incredible clients and patients.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS

Ruth provides a service meeting very specific, niche needs.  Her passion for understanding the struggles of her clients shone through.  She has adapted her business to work both virtually and face to face and clearly has a tenacity to disrupt a market that is currently stagnant.  She clearly never stops learning and adapting to her clients’ needs.
