Did you know that you can effectively take away an employee’s disability by removing barriers to them in the workplace, school, or public space? How wonderful is that? I give talks to organisations on how to achieve this. My talks are humorous and moving as well as educational. I will also become a published author in 2022.
I have been visually impaired since birth. During my childhood, I was repeatedly told I would never gain qualifications, or be employed. I gained my Law Degree in 1995, and ten years later I was a Departmental Head of HR for Nottingham City Council. In 2011 I left the council and founded my successful Will Writing business, which celebrated ten years in 2021.
My forthcoming book “She Will Never…” is my story of a full and fun life with visual impairment. It is due to be published in October 2022, and includes tips and information for people facing sight loss at any age.

Do not allow yourself to be defined by the label that other people place on you. Yes, I am visually impaired, but this does not stop me from achieving my goals. It may mean that I have to achieve them in a different way – and I have learned to enjoy being different.
