A mid-year visibility review could change the entire direction of your business if you take the time to pause, reflect, and ask yourself if you are visible in the right places, to the right people, and with the right message.

Summary

  • Mid-year is the perfect time to review your visibility strategy rather than start over.
  • Visibility is more than social media. It includes networking, speaking, sharing wins, relationships, and personal branding.
  • Consistent visibility builds trust, recognition, and momentum over time.
  • Small opportunities lead to bigger ones through conversations and connections.
  • Review the opportunities and wins you’ve already created this year instead of only focusing on unfinished goals.
  • The second half of the year still holds huge potential for growth, visibility, and new opportunities.

For many women in business, the first half of the year disappears in a blur of client work, networking, deadlines, family responsibilities, and trying to keep all the plates spinning. Before you know it, six months have passed, and those big goals you set in January have slipped to the bottom of the to-do list.

There is some good news, though: you don’t need to start from scratch on your visibility strategy. All you need to do is pause and review everything you’ve already created, then work out how to use it with intention.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the online space at the moment, you might be thinking, ‘Why bother?’, but your visibility is the foundation for all the opportunities that will bring you new clients, collaborations, and exciting moments.

Every conversation, every social media post, every collaboration, every event, every piece of content, every introduction, and every moment you allow yourself to be seen has the potential to open a new door.

Are you leveraging that momentum?

Visibility Is More Than Posting on Social Media

When you hear the word visibility, what do you think of?

I’m going to bet that your mind jumped straight to Instagram posts or LinkedIn content.

Yes, your social media platforms are important for reaching your target audience, but your visibility runs much deeper than showing up online.

Here are some of the ways I’ve built my visibility over the years:

  • Being remembered after a networking event (having lots of conversations)
  • Speaking about my expertise as a speaker mentor
  • Sharing my milestones (like ten years of Woman Who!)
  • Sharing my wins (yes, I won an award too)
  • Building relationships consistently
  • Saying yes to opportunities that stretch me (like singing a solo in concert)
  • Making it easy for people to understand what I do and who I help
  • Running a podcast, a radio show, and annual awards
  • Sharing lots of behind-the-scenes interests so my audience gets to know me better (like my excitement that Coventry City are going up into the Premier League!)

Visibility is about creating trust and recognition over time. People rarely buy from someone they discovered five minutes ago, but they do buy from people they’ve seen consistently showing up with value, confidence, and clarity.

Momentum Creates Opportunities

One opportunity can lead to another, and that’s the beauty of visibility momentum, but how might that play out in real time?

A networking conversation might lead to a podcast invitation.
The podcast appearance leads to a speaking opportunity.
A speaking opportunity leads to new clients.
And that collaboration introduces you to a completely new audience.

How many times has someone jumped into your DMs because a connection recommended they talk to you? This is how visibility builds.

The women who create the biggest opportunities in business aren’t waiting until everything is ready and the planets are aligned. They are showing up before they feel fully prepared and allowing visibility to work in their favour.

Your Mid-Year Visibility Review

Instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet this year, take time to review the momentum you’ve already built.

Q: What opportunities have already appeared?

  • Collaborations
  • Introductions
  • Events
  • Speaking opportunities
  • Referrals
  • Media features
  • Social media growth
  • Client enquiries

Sometimes you miss all the incredible achievements you’ve made because you’re too busy chasing the next goal, and yet everything you’ve already done helps your visibility.

Q: Are you visible in the spaces where your ideal audience already spends time?

You don’t need to be everywhere, but you do need to be intentional with where you show up.

Focus on the platforms, events, communities, and conversations that align with your goals and your ideal clients.

The Second Half of the Year Is Full of Opportunity

There is still a lot of time left this year to launch something new, start speaking, grow your audience, collaborate on projects, and become more visible in your industry. It’s all about taking a moment to review what’s working and create a strategy that supports you for your next level of business growth.

I take time out every quarter to review and reflect exactly where I’m at.
