It’s the perfect time of year to ask yourself whether you’re visible enough, or if you should be networking, posting, and launching more. However, what if you stopped the hustle, stopped adding to your overflowing to-do list, and embraced this time to rest and reset?

TLDR

  • Visibility isn’t about doing more; it’s about having the energy, clarity, and confidence to show up consistently.
  • Many women fall into the visibility trap of saying yes to too much and pushing harder when they’re already exhausted.
  • Burnout leads to inauthentic visibility, reduced creativity, lower confidence, and constant comparison.
  • Amplify Experience member Nicky Price highlights that many women link their self-worth to productivity, making rest feel like failure.
  • Rest shouldn’t be treated as a reward after the next milestone; it’s a vital part of sustainable success.
  • Mid-year is the perfect time to reflect on what’s energising you, what’s draining you, and what support you need moving forward.

For entrepreneurial women, your visibility strategy can quickly become another item on the long ‘to-do’ list of tasks you constantly need to think about. It’s exhausting! What if the most impactful thing you could do for yourself and your business right now is pause?

Far too many of us celebrate constant productivity, and even stopping for a cheeky midweek day off can feel uncomfortable. We convince ourselves that if we’re not creating, posting, networking, or selling, we’re falling behind.

Let’s stop the relentless action for a moment and explore the simple fact that your visibility comes from having the energy, clarity, and confidence to show up consistently over time. So, when you are in full hustle mode, you tend to burn out. I talk openly about the periods in my life where I took too much on, attended too many events, and hit a brick wall. What did I learn from this? That I need to take time to rest.

The Visibility Trap

Have you ever fallen into the trap of juggling multiple responsibilities? It might be your clients, family, the household, community commitments, caring responsibilities, or personal challenges. By mid-year, you start to feel exhausted.

The temptation is to push harder because you think that if you catch up, you’ll create more space for the other stuff. You create more content, attend more events, and say yes to more opportunities when you really should say no.

Doing this doesn’t create more space. It actually shows up as inauthentic visibility. When you’re overwhelmed, your creativity suffers, and your confidence takes a hit. It’s at this point you start comparing yourself to others on your social feed, and you lose sight of why you wanted to show up in the first place.

Amplify Experience member Nicky Price has spent years helping women break free from the subconscious beliefs and behaviours that keep them stuck. One of the most common patterns many women share is the belief that their worth is linked to their productivity.

They think that if they stop, they’ll fall behind, and if they rest, they’re somehow failing.

We need to recognise that wellbeing and success are not opposing forces, but perfect partners. When we are rested, we make better decisions, communicate and connect more effectively, and we show up with far greater impact.

Rest Isn’t a Reward

How many times have you told yourself you’ll rest after…

  • After the launch.
  • After the event.
  • After the next client.
  • After the next milestone.

The problem with this is that the finish line keeps moving and there’s always another goal creeping up behind the last one. There’s always something that will demand your attention.

What if you didn’t think of rest as a reward for success, but as a simple requirement? If you want to create a long-term impact with your visibility strategy, then you don’t need to work more hours or post more content; you need to step back, recharge, and return with renewed focus.

Nicky would be the first person to tell you that your nervous system needs a break.

Do you feel that if you slow down, everything you’ve worked so hard for will go away, or that you’ll have to give up and then you’d feel like a failure? Here’s why:

  • You’re looking in the wrong place for the solution. Happiness and self-worth are an inside job, meaning you can’t create those feelings for any length of time from something on the outside of you.
  • Your mind is wired for survival and not necessarily for success. If your value and self-worth were linked to your achievements as a child, then you will carry the belief that ‘I must achieve in order to feel worthy’ for your whole life.

This creates significant inner conflict and resistance, leaving you unhappy. However, if you change your internal belief system, you can change your life.” Nicky Price.

That starts by taking a break to recharge and refocus.

Mid-Year Reflection: What Do You Need Right Now?

Before you set new goals for the rest of the year, take five minutes to check in with yourself – NOT your business! Ask yourself:

  • How am I really feeling?
  • What has energised me this year?
  • What has drained me?
  • Where have I been forcing things?
  • What would support me most during the next six months?

The answers may surprise you.

You might find that you need stronger boundaries. Perhaps you need to stop saying yes to opportunities that no longer feel right. Or are you waiting for permission to take a break?

Your Invitation for the Next Six Months

As you review the year so far, celebrate what you’ve achieved. Acknowledge the challenges you’ve navigated and recognise the progress you’ve made.

The most strategic move you can make is to forget pushing forward. You need to focus on resting long enough to remember where you’re going for the rest of the year and beyond.

The Amplify Experience

If you’re ready to go from hidden to high profile, ask me about The AMPLIFY Experience my curated experience for business owners who want to become known, get booked to speak, and build a personal brand that opens doors long before they need them.

Book a Discovery Call to find out more.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you can have a powerful message, but if you’re hiding behind your work, fewer people ever get to hear it. As someone who helps women overcome the hidden subconscious patterns that are capping their income and growth, I realised I needed to take my own advice and become more visible too.

Sandra Garlick MBE’s “Amplify” Experience came at exactly the right time. She has a brilliant way of creating a safe, supportive environment whilst gently encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone and put yourself out there. She even creates the stages for you to do so. Every weekly session challenged me to think bigger, take action and stop waiting until I felt completely ready.

Because of Amplify, I’ve started actively applying for speaking opportunities, and now have my biggest live audience to date this September. If you’re serious about growing your visibility and sharing your expertise, Sandra will absolutely help you make that happen.
